Six directors at AIM-listed mining company Shanta Gold on Monday purchased shares in the company following its full year results. Non-executive Director Jonathan Leslie made the biggest purchase, buying 560,000 shares at a price of 17.75p each, taking his stake to 13.14m, equal to 2.85% of the issued share capital. For the same price, fellow non-executive Director Luke Leslie acquired 280,000 shares, Chief Executive Officer Mike Houston bought 84,507, and non-executive Director Nick Davis added 54,950. A further 39,436 were purchased by Financial Director Edward Johnstone. The group's full year results were less than dazzling, with losses widening to $14.7m (2011: $12.3m) on the back of rising admin and finance expenses during a "transitional" year. However, the group said 2013 was off to a positive start from both a corporate and an operational perspective.Top Director BuysShanta Gold Ltd.
