Hurricane Energy makes good progress at Lancaster Field

(Sharecast News) - UK-based oil and gas company Hurricane Energy updated the market on its operations on the early production system development of the Lancaster Field on Thursday, reporting that the installation of subsea umbilical, risers and flowlines (SURF) had been successfully completed.The AIM-traded firm said that marked the end of the offshore installation programme.It said the final activity at the field would be a programme of protective rock dumping, expected to take place in October.The system was now complete and ready for the arrival of the Aoka Mizu FPSO, Hurricane explained.It said the works on the vessel in Dubai were in their final stages, with sea trials expected to start by the end of this month, and sailaway to follow shortly thereafter."I'm pleased to report successful completion of subsea installation, the final element of the installation campaign scheduled for the 2018 summer weather window," said Hurricane Energy chief executive officer Dr Robert Trice."The required infrastructure is now in place for the Aoka Mizu FPSO to hook-up and commence commissioning upon arrival. I look forward to first oil in the first half of 2019."
