Tristel's hygiene products win Russian backing

Disinfectant product maker Tristel has taken a step forward in selling its products in Russia.Tristel said the Russian Society of Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeons had recommended its wipes for ENT endoscopy, which it sells in 32 countries.The group registered the wipes in Russia two years ago and said clinical specialists in the country had now recognised their merits.Sales of the wipes in the UK have reached £2.8m in the first nine months of this year and have topped £1.2m in Germany and Australasia in the same period.Chief Executive Paul Swinney said: "We have a well-established branch operation in Moscow and look forward to building our presence in this substantial market."Shares in Tristel rose 9p or 16.7% to 63p by 13:01 in London.PW
