Coal of Africa appoints new CFO

Metallurgical and thermal coal producer Coal of Africa has appointed De Wet Schutte as its chief financial officer.The 44-year-old, who has covered the same role at Atlatsa Resources Corporation and has also worked for Australia-based Macquarie Bank as managing director of natural resources, will begin his new role on 22 June."De Wet's experience is perfectly suited to assist CoAL in the search and execution of a strategic partner and funding for this flagship project," said group chief executive David Brown."His wealth of experience will be vital as we look to fulfil our strategy of becoming a significant coking coal producer in South Africa."Coal of Africa shares were down 2.58% to 5.70p at 08:39 on Monday.
