Character says popular Go Go Hamster is safe

Character Group, the UK distributor of Go Go Pets, has insisted that this year's must have Christmas toy is safe.The firm behind the £9.99 battery-powered pets said the toys fully comply with the 'extremely stringent safety and quality standards and regulations' imposed by the European authorities.Today's statement comes after a report published last week by US consumer magazine Good Guide claimed that one item in the range - the hamster Mr Squiggles - was inaccurately alleged to contain more than the permitted level of the chemical Antimony.Cepia, the manufacturer, has confirmed that it is considering proceedings against the Good Guide.
