Vodafone UK To Offer iPhone 4 From GBP25 A Month

LONDON (Dow Jones)--Vodafone Group PLC's (VOD) U.K. customers will be able to get Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) new iPhone 4 from GBP25 a month on a 24-month contract from June 24. In addition, Vodafone UK will introduce pay-as-you-go on the iPhone in July. Details of pricing for the pay-as-you-go version will be announced nearer the launch, Vodafone said in a statement. Earlier this month, Telefonica SA's O2 said it was scrapping unlimited data use for smartphones in the U.K., following a sharp rise in web surfing by consumers, most notably iPhone users. O2 said its new mobile-data pricing will give customers "a more transparent pricing model tied to usage." Under O2's new model, customers paying GBP25, GBP30, or GBP35 a month on a 24-month contract will be allowed to use up to 500 megabytes of data.
