DOW JONES NEWSWIRES Verizon Wireless will begin selling Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) iPhone in January, ending the exclusivity of AT&T Inc. (T) on providing service for the smartphone across the U.S., Bloomberg News reports Tuesday, citing two people familiar with the plans. Brenda Raney, a spokeswoman for Verizon Wireless, didn't immediately return a call seeking comment, Bloomberg says. Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris and Peter Thonis, a Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) spokesman, declined to comment. Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications and U.K.-based Vodafone Group PLC (VOD).
