Toyota halts production as typhoon approaches

Toyota, the world's largest car manufacturer, is to suspend operations at 11 of its factories in central Japan as a precautionary measure, as a typhoon is approaching the area.A spokesman for Toyota said the Wednesday evening shifts at the plants have been cancelled, and the production halt may continue into Thursday.
