Software firm Autonomy is winning new contracts and the latest two have boosted the share price today. There is a seven figure deal with a US law firm and a licence agreement with telecoms firm Verizon. Other contracts announced this week were with Ahold, Safeway and insurer Allstate. Autonomy also secured its biggest ever contract in Japan. BAE Systems is acquiring the 91.3% of Fairchild Imaging that it does not own for $86m. Fairchild supplies imaging components and cameras. It generated revenues of $42.6m in 2009. BAE says that Fairchild fits in with its existing electro-optics and night vision operations. Communications equipment manufacturer Filtronic continues to decline following yesterday afternoon's warning that it could lose business following the acquisition of Nera Networks by Nasdaq-quoted Ceragon Networks. Filtronic is currently a supplier of point-to-point communications equipment to Nera but the danger is Ceragon will replace this with its own products. Filtronic warns that there could be a "potentially significant reduction" in sales to Nera. The Filtronic share price has fallen by nearly 30% this week.
