Shire CFO sells shares ahead of departure

Shire's soon-to-depart Chief Financial Officer, Graham Hetherington, sold 2.29m pounds-worth of shares in the pharmaceutical giant. Hetherington, who on Friday annonced his intention to step down at the beginning of March to spend more time with his family, exercised a stock appreciation right award of 134,814 shares, of which he subsequently received and sold 72,821. The share were exercised at 1,443p each, and sold at 3,146.7p. His interim replacement will be Senior Vice President and Group Financial Controller, James Bowling.
