Segro picks FD Sleath as new CEO

Real estate company Segro, formerly Slough Estates, has shifted finance director David Sleath into the hot seat to replace Ian Coull who retires after the AGM in April.Sleath, 49, has been the company's chief number cruncher since 1 January 2006, and his switch triggers a hunt for a new FD.Before Segro he was at Wagon, leaving the automotive engineer in 2005 after six years, three years before it went bust. He's currently a non-executive director at distribution and outsourcing group Bunzl.Coull told colleagues in October that he was leaving after almost eight years to become chairman of housebuilder Galliford Try. The 60-year-old was a director at supermarket giant Sainsbury's before taking a job at Segro, responsible for all property, construction environmental and related activities."I am delighted to be appointed chief executive," said Sleath. "Segro has been on a transformational journey over the last 8 years under Ian Coull's leadership and I am looking forward to building on this to deliver value to shareholders in the years ahead."
