DOW JONES NEWSWIRES Program trading grew last week on the NYSE Euronext's (NYX) New York Stock Exchange, while total volume slid. The daily program trading volume average was 912.6 million, or 34.3% of the average total of 2.66 billion. Those figures were up from 778.7 million, or 26.9% of the 2.89-billion-share average volume posted the prior week. The most active NYSE member for program trading last week was Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS). It was followed by Morgan Stanley (MS), Barclays PLC (BCS, BARC.LN) and Deutsche Bank AG (DB, DBK.XE).
