MARKET TALK: Verizon Wireless May Still Be Cool To Dividend

9:29 (Dow Jones) Verizon Wireless may not be so quick to pay a dividend after all. Last week, parent Verizon (VZ) CFO John Killian opened the door to a dividend, which would also go to fellow stakeholder Vodafone (VOD), saying it's something that could happen after 2012. But RBS says that VZ is more likely to withhold the payout as a bargaining ploy to buy out VOD's stake. Firm says that VOD shareholders may have to wait five or more years before they receive a payout from Verizon Wireless, and even then it might be a one-time payment vs a regular revenue stream.
