JOHANNESBURG (I-Net Bridge)--Kumba Iron Ore Ltd. (KIO.JO), which is 64% owned by Anglo American PLC (AAL.LN), Thursday reported an effective doubling of its first half diluted headline earnings per share to 20.19 rand for the six months to end June 2010 from 10.69 rand previously. The company's first half headline earnings were 90% higher at 6.5 billion rand from 3.4 billion rand in the first half of 2009 on the back of increased demand and higher iron prices.
