LONDON (Dow Jones)--HSBC Holdings PLC (HBC) said Wednesday that Patrick Burke, chief executive of HSBC Finance Corp.'s card and retail services, has been appointed CEO of the unit. The move follows the appointment of Niall Booker, who headed the U.S. consumer finance unit, as CEO of HSBC's North American operations. Booker is replacing Brendan McDonagh, who is retiring. HSBC North America's wider U.S. business includes branches in 12 states and Washington, D.C., that primarily link in with other parts of the world, such as Florida branches targeting Latin American communities and California branches within Asian neighborhoods. It also has investment banking, commercial banking and private banking operations in the country. -By Patricia Kowsmann, Dow Jones Newswires.
