The loss of a major client has proved the final straw for management of Homeserve, which has decided to close down its property repairs operations. The home maintenance company said the performance of its property repairs business continues to be affected by challenging market conditions and it is therefore proposing to close Homeserve Property Repairs (HPR), based in Nottingham, and Anglia, based in Dyserth, north Wales.‘In addition to ongoing operating losses within HPR and Anglia, we anticipate the costs associated with closing these businesses to be approximately £15m,’ the company said.Trading at the company’s core membership operations continue to trade well, and will not be affected by the proposed closure of HPR and Anglia.
