Homeserve, the troubled emergency home repairs company, has denied it is in talks about a possible takeover.The firm has lost 42% of its value this year after becoming embroiled in a mis-selling scandal. Call centre staff appear to have overstepped the mark when selling customers "Complete Cover" policies. The company is also on the hook for having weak complaints procedures.The Daily Telegraph has reported private equity firms are circling Homeserve, hoping to take advantage of its distressed share price. Homeserve has categorically denied it is, or has been engaged in, discussions which could lead to a possible offer for the company.BS
