Greenpeace Activists Close BP Gasoline Stations In London - BBC

LONDON (Dow Jones)--Activists from the environmental pressure group Greenpeace have forced the closure of a number of BP PLC (BP) gasoline stations in central London, the BBC reports on its website Tuesday. Greenpeace said it had shut off the fuel supplies to all stations in the area. The oil company said about 12 had been closed. BP said activists stopped the flow of fuel by flipping safety switches, then removing them to prevent the filling stations reopening. A BP spokesman said the gasoline stations would be reopened as soon as it was safe to do so, the BBC reports. Greenpeace said it wanted the company to adopt greener energy policies.
