Shares in home credit firm Internaional Personal Finance (IPF) were gaining some of its recently lost ground today after it plummeted on Friday morning following the news of a fine in Poland. This was helped significantly by Numis Securities, which said the drop in shares presented a good buying opportunity. "Given the dramatic share price decline we believe this risk is more than reflected in the share price and our recommendation moves to 'buy'," the broker said.As on the top tier, miners were putting in a strong performance at the other end of the index, buoyed by the reports from China that a potential credit crisis is not as likely as matter chatter would have. Today's big risers include Kenmare Resources, Vedanta Resources, Polymetal Intl, and Evraz. Heading the other way was retailer Halfords, as investors across the sector fear the discounted prices will not have been sufficiently offset by the volume of sales after reports of mixed trading over the festive period.FTSE 250 - RisersInternational Personal Finance (IPF) 499.70p +9.78%RPS Group (RPS) 348.90p +6.02%Kenmare Resources (KMR) 20.60p +5.80%Vedanta Resources (VED) 941.50p +4.44%Imagination Technologies Group (IMG) 175.30p +4.35%Telecity Group (TCY) 726.50p +3.64%Polymetal International (POLY) 582.00p +3.01%Domino's Pizza Group (DOM) 510.50p +2.99%Evraz (EVR) 112.30p +2.74%Homeserve (HSV) 275.10p +2.31%FTSE 250 - FallersHalfords Group (HFD) 445.20p -3.22%Partnership Assurance Group (PA.) 292.50p -2.50%Bank of Georgia Holdings (BGEO) 2,383.00p -1.97%Petra Diamonds Ltd.(DI) (PDL) 117.80p -1.75%NMC Health (NMC) 442.30p -1.71%Micro Focus International (MCRO) 778.50p -1.64%Phoenix Group Holdings (DI) (PHNX) 726.50p -1.62%BTG (BTG) 568.50p -1.56%Telecom Plus (TEP) 1,765.00p -1.56%Bovis Homes Group (BVS) 780.00p -1.52%NR
