Bumi plc shares tumbled as co-founders of the coal miner financier Nathanial Rothschild and the Bakrie Group continued to butt heads over fate of the business. Shareholders are meeting next Thursday to vote on a proposal by Rothschild to replace members of the board. Furthermore, overnight shares of PT Bumi Resources rose to the highest in more than four months, rocketing higher by 26 per cent in Jakarta trading, after it requested a takeover panel to expedite inquiry into the creation of parent coal company Bumi plc. Soft drinks peers Britvic and AG Barr were in the red today after announcing late yesterday afternoon that the Office of Fair Trading has referred the tie-up to the Competition Commission. SOCO International fell after Exane BNP lowered its target price from 405p to 390p, while leaving its neutral rating unaltered. This comes after the company said on Wednesday that it saw a whopping 170% increase in production in 2012. Meanwhile, SVG Capital got a boost after Oriel Securities shifted its target price on the stock from 360p to 370p, and kept its buy recommendation on the stock.Environmental technology health and safety group Halma said based on current trading and forecasts, it expects adjusted profit for the full year to be in line with market expectations, prompting a decent rise in the share price.
