Only six FTSE 100 constituents are in the red this afternoon as the market recovers strongly on the back of buoyant mining shares.Kazakhmys, Antofagasta, Randgold Resources, Vedanta, Anglo American, Xstrata and ENRC are the pick of the risers in the mining sector as metal prices head higher.Among precious metals gold prices made headway, hitting an intra-day session high of $1,018.90 an ounce on Monday. Gold for December delivery advanced $13.50 to settle at $1,017.80 an ounce. Demand for the yellow metal was driven by the weaker dollar.
