Former chief executive of Tate & Lyle, Iain Ferguson, has joined the board of contracting firm Balfour Beatty as a non-executive director.Ferguson, who finally left the sugar and sweeteners company last month, will take up his new role on 1 January.Before starting work at Tate in 2003, the 54-year-old spent years at food and household goods giant Unilever, ending his time there as senior vice president, corporate development.Ferguson is also a non-exec of sausage rolls and pasties chain Greggs.'Iain's extensive international operational experience and his strategic insight gained over several years, more latterly in his capacity as the chief executive of a global business, will make a significant contribution to our growth in the coming years," said Balfour chairman Steve Marshall.
