(Sharecast News) - Data processing technology company Ethernity Networks has received an initial order from a new tier-1 North American aerospace original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customer, it announced on Tuesday, to provide its 'ENET Avionic Ethernet Switch' firmware and software, integrated into its FPGA-based 'Universal Edge Platform' (UEP) device.
The AIM-traded firm said the $0.12m order represented the customer's selection of Ethernity's Avionics Ethernet Switch for its initial offering.

Pending the customer's successful programme execution, it said it could lead to a "significant expansion" and further orders during 2021, which would include the certification of Ethernity's ENET Avionic Ethernet Switch for critical avionics operation.

"The addition of a second tier-1 aerospace OEM customer brings confirmation that our avionics switch solution is a valuable asset within the military aerospace market," said chief executive officer David Levi.

"It shows that Ethernity's FPGA-based offerings are attractive to a diverse range of applications and industries, and we expect 2021 to reflect the market's growing awareness of the advantages Ethernity brings."

At 1541 GMT, shares in Ethernity Networks were up 2.15% at 17.37p.
