Online retailer Ebay and Home Retail Group-owned Argos have announced a 'click-and-collect' tie-up deal. The scheme, which will be piloted in around 150 Argos stores, will allow eBay shoppers to purchase certain goods online and collect them in store. More than 50 unnamed e-Bay sellers have agreed to take part in the scheme. Agros Managing Director, John Walden, said: "Having pioneered check-and-reserve in the year 2000, it now accounts for around a third of our business and continues to grow. "[EBay] is already a strong partner with Argos and a logical partner for the trial. We look forward to assessing the opportunity for Argos to provide fulfilment for eBay's merchants, including the operational requirements, attractiveness to sellers and consumers, and opportunity for increased customer footfall."Earlier this year it was revealed that Argos's check-and-reserve service and online sales were responsible for its first annual rise in sales in five years.
