Directors' dealings: Headlam's new chief splashes out

(ShareCast News) - Fresh from his promotion to head up the flooring company, Headlam Group's new chief executive Steve Wilson has shown his confidence in the company with the purchase of more than £223,000 of shares.On Wednesday, after the FTSE Smallcap-listed group announced that long-time finance director Wilson was to ascend to the top role with immediate effect after CEO Tony Brewer stepped down after 16 years.Wilson on Thursday then splashed out on 50,000 shares at a price of 447.125p, but saw the stock continue to fall to 444.5p, having topped 520p in the early summer.Even though Headlam reiterated the statement from its August interim results that its market "appears to be robust and, subject to the key trading period in the run-up to Christmas, the board remains confident of achieving full year expectations", investors remained slightly spooked.
