Derwent London chairman sells £13.8m-worth of shares

The non-executive chairman of Derwent London sold £13.8m worth of shares in the property investment and development group.Robert Rayne sold a total of 400,000 shares in two transactions for 3,451.80p each, pocketing a total of £13.8m.200,000 shares were sold by Rayne directly, while 200,000 were offloaded through Withers Trust Corporation.Following the transaction, Rayne still holds 3.277m shares, which represents a 2.96% stake in thecompany.Derwent said last week recent strong letting activity drove its vacancy rate down to 1.9% during the first-half of the year from 4.1% in December.The group had said in the statement that time would tell if the general elections would affect the central London office market.
