Daily Mirror to run Sportech's Pools and Spot the Ball

Sportech, the football pools company, has done a deal to reintroduce the Pools and Spot the Ball to the Daily Mirror.The company said it has secured a distribution deal with Trinity Mirror Group newspapers to get The Football Pools (trading as The New Football Pools) into its regional and national newspapers.Its exclusive partnership will see The Football Pools back in the Daily Mirror's four page Mania football supplement in the first week of January with subsequent weekly editorial columns each Tuesday which will include that week's football pools coupon.Spot the Ball, using classic football images from the paper's football photo archive, also returns.Both games are expected to be launched across Trinity Mirror's regional titles throughout 2010.'This represents another important step in revitalising the Football Pools, at the start of this important World Cup year,' said Sportech chief Ian Penrose.
