Defence and security firm Cohort has ramped up full-year profit by 16% and revenue by over a third, allowing it to hike the final dividend by 20%.Pre-tax profit for the year ended 30 April 2009 rose to £6.5m from £5.6m in 2008 on revenue up 38% to £78.6m as all the firm's businesses enjoyed a record year.The company, whose order book stood at £47.2m at the end of May, said it's on the look out for further complementary acquisitions."Cohort has continued to make good progress," said chairman Nick Prest. "Overall the board is positive about the outlook."The final dividend rises to 1.2p a share from 1p last year, taking the full year payout to 1.75p versus 1.45p in 2008.
