Integrated support services company Carillion's 50/50 joint venture (JV) with Lafarge Tarmac has been selected as one of the contractors on the Midlands Highway Alliance framework. The value of the framework to the JV is £100m across a three-year period, with the option to extend it by a further year to June 2018.Under the agreement, the JV will deliver a wide range of projects on behalf of the Alliance partners, including the reconfiguration of highway layouts, the construction of road and bridgeworks, resurfacing and associated enabling works. Carillion Chief Executive, Richard Howson, said: "Our appointment to this framework continues our strong work winning performance in 2014 and supports our view that the outlook in our selected sectors of the UK construction market continues to improve.
