BP ducks one set of claims

A US judge has decided integrated oil company BP won't face claims for damages over the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill brought by recreational users, company-branded gas station owners and businesses alleging loss of reputation.US District Judge Carl Barbier removed these categories of claims from more than 500 lawsuits.An estimated $7.8bn settlement between BP and lawyers, intended to compensate claims for economic damage, did not include these claims and will be unaffected by the ruling.CM
