Aveng Finance Director Quits For Platinum Company

JOHANNESBURG (Dow Jones)--South African construction company Aveng Ltd. (AEG.JO) said Wednesday its finance director has resigned to pursue an opportunity at an unnamed "significant" listed platinum producer. Simon Scott will step down from the position and Aveng's board Sept. 26, the company said. It said it is in the process of identifying a successor. Scott joined Aveng as finance director in August from Anglo Platinum Ltd. (AMS.JO), the world's biggest producer of the metal, where for more than eight years he held a number of senior financial positions and served on a number of subsidiary company boards. -By Robb M.
