Autonomy in 7-figure deal with BAE

Corporate infrastructure giant Autonomy has won what it termed ‘a significant licence agreement’ with UK defence firm BAE Systems.As is usually the case with Autonomy, financial details were not disclosed, though it went so far as to reveal that the contract award was for a seven figure sum.BAE will use Autonomy’s Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) software.The announcement follows swiftly on from Wednesday’s trading update from Autonomy in which it said it expects to report 2009 results in line with analyst consensus estimates of revenues of about $740m and fully diluted EPS (adjusted) of $0.97.That announcement, in turn, came in the wake of comments from stockbroker Astaire Securities suggesting the company might not meet full year sales targets after a subdued fourth quarter.
