Anglo American names new copper boss

Anglo American said Hennie Faul would lead its copper business following John MacKenzie's decision to leave the miner.Faul, currently group head of mining, has been with the mining giant for nine years and has more than 26 years of industry experience. From October he will report to Duncan Wanblad who heads Anglo's base metals and minerals business.Wanblad said: "Hennie has shown strong leadership during his nine years with Anglo American - across our former zinc business and as group head of mining for the last two and a half years. I look forward to working with Hennie as we continue to improve the performance of our high quality copper assets to their full potential."Anglo American said MacKenzie, who has been with Anglo for 24 years and was Chief Executive of copper for the last four, was leaving "to pursue other opportunities outside Anglo American."Shares in Anglo American were up 2.5% to 1533p at 12:39 on Friday.TB
