Anglo American beefs up board

Mining company Anglo American has appointed Ray O’Rourke to the board as a non-executive director.The 62-year-old O’Rourke is the founder, chief executive and chairman of Laing O’Rourke, the largest privately owned construction company in Europe..He is the third new non-executive to join the board of Anglo American since Sir John Parker became chairman on 1 August, 2009.‘Ray has a proven track record in delivering complex and large scale projects around the world, mobilising large numbers of people with great success and applying leading project management practices. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to safety, engineering, innovation and the development of people will add considerable strength to our board,’ said Parker.
