(Sharecast News) - Zambian food producer Zambeef appointed Faith Mukutu to its board as chief financial officer on Thursday, with immediate effect.

Prior to joining Zambeef, Mukutu held a number of senior finance and operational roles, most recently serving as financial director of Zambia Sugar, where she was "instrumental" in implementing the group's Illova Finance transformation programme.

Chairman Dr Jacob Mwanza said: "I'm delighted to announce the appointment of Faith as the company's new CFO and member of the board.

"As the former finance director of three LuSE listed companies and with significant experience in the food and beverage sector, she will be a highly valuable asset to the team."

Elsewhere, the AIM-listed group also appointed Michael Mundashi to the board as an independent non-executive director, bringing with him experience from one of Zambia's largest banks and life assurance companies.

As of 1035 BST, Zambeef shares had dipped 0.20% to 6.11p.
