(Sharecast News) - Digital performance publisher XLMedia has entered into a media partnership with Advance Local that will see the pair become the exclusive provider of sports betting content for Ohio news and information website Cleveland.com.

XLMedia said on Tuesday that Cleveland.com represented its largest media partner to date, offering key US and regional coverage by capitalising on the brand's "massive" Ohio-based audience - a state slated to legalise mobile betting in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The AIM-listed firm stated within the agreement, it will focus on creating content related to sports betting across leagues like the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, UFC, NCAA sports, and more.

Cody Darwick, XLMedia's director of media partnerships, said: "We are thrilled to partner with Advance Local's cleveland.com platform, as this deal represents a major step in our strategic efforts to strike media partnerships with premium North American publishers looking to capitalise on the fast-growing online sports betting industry. The timing couldn't be more perfect ahead of Ohio's anticipated statewide sports betting launch later this year."

As of 1045 BST, XLMedia shares were up 1.66% at 29.99p.
