(Sharecast News) - Low-cost European carrier Wizz Air grew its network and improve its customer offering during October as capacity and passenger numbers continued to decline.
Wizz said on Tuesday that it had launched a major expansion in Norway with the announcement of a new base in Oslo, featuring two permanently based aircraft, as well as a new base in Trondheim with a further two aircraft.
The FTSE 250-listed firm also announced the creation of a new base in Bari, Italy with one based aircraft.
Wizz also expanded its fleet with the addition of two brand new Airbus A320neo aircraft, taking its fleet to a total 134 aircraft.
In terms of passenger numbers, capacity numbers dropped 55.3% to 1.73m last month, while passenger numbers decreased 69.1% to 1.14m and load factor contracted 29.4 points to 65.9%.
As of 0840 GMT, Wizz shares were up 2.98% at 3,384.0p.
