West African Minerals has today announced its intention to proceed with a preliminary grid drilling program at its South Djadom project. That follows the results in from 27 additional scout drill holes have revealed the area to be 'significantly mineralised.' Six of the above showed 'significant mineralissation.'Commenting on the announcement Investec told clients that while Australian rival Sundance Resources (SDL's) nearby Mbalam project is in 'limbo' at the moment, after a bid from Chinese outfit Hanlong fell through, it remains confident that it will eventually find a strategic partner. The importance of that, the broker goes on to explain, is that West African Mineral's project should therefore be well placed if infrastructure is put in place to access SDL's project. West African Mineral Resources is next week running an analyst site visit to its projects.A second reverse circulation (RC) drill rig and two diamond rigs have been mobilized, and will be operational by mid-June, to assist in the exploration programme.As of 16:01 shares of West African Minerals are moving lower by 10.55% to the 30.75p.
