Wednesday preview: Queen's Speech in focus

Wednesday will be a light day both in terms of economic data and company results, although the Queen's speech will be watched for any surprises - a not uncommon occurrence.In her role as Head of State, and marking the State Opening of Parliament, the Queen will put forward the government's agenda, in what is known as the Queen's speech.Markets are particularly keen to glean any details regarding the possible timing of the EU referendum or on plans for further Scottish devolution.Consumer confidence surveys will be released in France and Germany, alongside business confidence data out of Belgium. The latter is of particular interest as it provides one of the earliest readings on the state of sentiment in the single currency area's industrial sector.No data are scheduled for release Stateside.Company-wise, AG Barr is scheduled to update the market on the company's progress during its first quarter.
