UU CFO to leave for C&W

Tim Weller, chief financial officer (CFO) of United Utilities, is to jump ship to take over the CFO role at the Cable & Wireless division, Cable & Wireless Worldwide.Weller will join the Cable & Wireless Worldwide board of directors in May 2010. He has been the CFO at utilities company United Utilties since July 2006.Telecoms giant Cable & Wireless plans to demerge its Worldwide and International businesses by March of next year.United Utilities’ chief executive, Philip Green, paid tribute to Weller’s work, saying: ‘Tim has been an integral part of all the work we have done in recent years to reshape the United Utilities Group and to improve our operational performance; he also played a key role in relation to the recent water price review.’
