UPDATE: BP To Start Crude Oil Supply To Dung Quat Refinery August

(Adds BP hasn't discussed possible sale of Vietnamese gas assets with PetroVietnam) DALAT (Dow Jones)--BP PLC (BP) will start supplying crude oil to Vietnam's Dung Quat refinery from next month, an official with the operator of the plant said Wednesday. BP will supply 1 million metric tons of crude oil to the 130,000-barrel-a-day plant this year, the official, who didn't want to be named, told Dow Jones Newswires. "The oil spill (in the Gulf of Mexico) hasn't had any negative impact on BP's plan to supply crude oil to our refinery," the official said. BP hasn't discussed a plan to sell gas fields and pipelines in the country with the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, or PetroVietnam, an executive of the state-run company said Wednesday. "BP and PetroVietnam have equal shares in these assets," Nguyen Tien Dung, deputy director of PetroVietnam, told Dow Jones Newswires. Dung said it's not clear yet whether PetroVietnam would take over the assets.
