Ultra Electronics said on Tuesday that its PMES business has been awarded a contract worth £18m by Rolls-Royce, relating to the design and development of reactor control and cooling systems for Royal Navy submarines.The contract is the result of a successful, collaborative partnership between the two companies and will provide an important contribution to Rolls-Royce in its delivery of the next generation propulsion power system for the future submarine fleet.Ultra's chief executive Rakesh Sharma said: "We are delighted to have secured this new contract with the Royal Navy and Rolls Royce which recognises both Ultra's capability to understand its customer's needs and the confidence of the UK Navy in Ultra's ability."We also look forward to further enhancing our relationship with Rolls Royce.
