Tuesday preview: Chinese inflation data, fund managers in focus

(Sharecast News) - All eyes on Tuesday will be on the latest Chinese consumer and factory gate price data referencing the month of September.Back in the UK, ONS will publish its employment report for the same month.On the Continent meanwhile, Italian premier, Giuseppe Conte, is to deliver a speech at 1400 BST, ahead of the European Union summit which is due to begin on the following day.He will be preceded by the ZEW institute's gauge of analyst confidence in Germany for the month of October, at 100 BST.Stateside, the focus will be on the release of the latest monthly industrial production figures at 1330 BST, followed by the JOLTS labour market survey for August, at 1500 BST. The corporate spotlight on Tuesday will be on fund managers, with both Ashmore and Man Group set to provide investors with updates.For the former, which specialises in emerging markets, analysts at Numis forecast first quarter assets under management of $74.8bn.In a research note sent to clients, analyst David McCann said Ashmore was a "core" long-term sector holding due to the long-term structural growth expected in EM AuM.However, he conceded there were key short-to-medium term headwinds, citing revenue margin pressures and the uncrtain direction of future flows.
