Tuesday preview: BP, ARM, Autonomy

BP's results should be another step in the company's recovery from being the world's most vilified company, though the company remains pretty unpopular in certain parts of Russia. Its Russian joint venture partners TNK-BP are seething at being left out in the cold when the British company signed a £10bn arctic exploration tie-up with Kremlin-backed Rosneft.Income investors will be keen to learn the size of the quarterly dividend; the company suspended dividend payments at the time of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill crisis, but has pledged to resume payments this year. Charles Stanley thinks the quarterly dividend will be restored at half of last year's fourth quarter level of 14 cents, i.e. 7 cents per share.Replacement cost profit is seen coming in at $4.9bn for the quarter.Semiconductor group ARM Holdings, which makes chips for gadgets such as the Apple iPhone and iPad is expected to report revenues of about £104m in its fourth quarter results. For the full year pre-tax profits are seen coming in at £144m on sales of £397m.Elsewhere in the world of technology, data search software group Autonomy is also reporting fourth quarter and full year results. Analysts are expecting revenues of about £550m for the full year.
