A widening of the bid/offer spread appears to be the main reason behind a jump in the share price of Ark Therapeutics. Trading has been thin on the ground with two trades in the day so far. The first was for 5,000 shares at a buying price of 5.25p and later there was a trade in 830 shares at 5.09p each. Together these trades are worth £304 yet the share price has moved by nearly one-fifth. The difference between the bid and offer prices is normally 0.5p but early today it widened to 1p with the bid price staying the same and the offer price rising. The share price increase does not have anything to sustain it. However, buying by its employee share trust could not perk up educational IT supplier RM following the government's recent decision to halt the refurbishment of schools. The employee share trust bought 504,656 shares at an average price of 158.6669p each. The share price has fallen below this level.
