Tate and Lyle wins US court case

Food ingredients group Tate and Lyle has won a court case in the United States against equipment supplier Whitefox Technologies.The dispute related to equipment and technology supplied by Whitefox, under an agreement entered into in June 2006, for use in Tate & Lyle's ethanol production facilities at Loudon, Tennessee and Fort Dodge, Iowa.Tate & Lyle successfully argued the equipment was not "fit for purpose".In announcing the decision today, the company did not make clear what the financial implications of the legal win might be.BS
