(Sharecast News) - Sylvania Platinum updated the market on its share buyback programme on Friday, announcing that it acquired 293,866 shares, representing 0.1% of its issued share capital, at an average price of 86.17p each on 16 June.

The AIM-traded firm said following that transaction, its issued share capital was now 286,155,657 shares, of which 17,971,177 were held in treasury, including 4,537,231 pending cancellation.

"Therefore, the total number of ordinary shares with voting rights in Sylvania is 268,184,480," the board said in its statement.

Sylvania announced the share buyback programme on 9 May, running to 30 June with a value of up to $8.5m.

At 1312 BST, shares in Sylvania Platinum were up 1.73% at 88p.
