Strat Aero joins US drone consortium

(ShareCast News) - AIM-listed aerospace company Strat Aero has become an affiliate member of the consortium of companies in the Autonomous and Unmanned Systems Cluster (AUSC) of south-eastern New Mexico.Strat Aero said the drone group provides unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) services to institutions such as the military, homeland security and oil & gas companies.Through its affiliation with AUSC, Strat Aero will offer key unmanned system software, services, and training capabilities as part of its fully integrated UAV service offering.Strat Aero said the parners have already applied for significant military contracts worth a combined $10m (£6.6m) through the US Navy's SeaPort-e procurement programme.At 1550 GMT, Strat Aero shares were down 3.5% at 5.91p.
