Banking giant Standard Chartered has confirmed Bill Winters will be appointed as new chief executive from 10 June.The 53-year-old American, who has been running his own hedge fund in London since leaving JP Morgan in 2009, was first announced as Peter Sands' replacement on 26 February and joined the FTSE 100 group earlier this month."Bill is a globally respected banker and has the right experience and skills to drive the Group's new phase of growth," group chairman Sir John Peace said at the time of the announcement."He brings substantial financial experience from leading a successful global business and has an exceptional understanding of the global regulatory and conduct environment."Standard Chartered shares were down 0.14% to 1,044.50p at 11:26 on Wednesday.
