Soaring overseas sales boost ASOS

Soaring international sales helped online celebrity-inspired fashion retailer ASOS maintain its eye-watering upward momentum in the three months to 30 June.ASOS - whose name stands for 'As Seen On Screen" - saw revenues rise by 69% from the same period a year ago to £104.2m UK revenues climbed by 15% to £44.6m while international sales grew 160% to £59.6m.Chief executive Nick Robertson also pointed out that ASOS had completed the transition to a new warehouse facility in Barnsley ahead of schedule. "The new financial year has started well and we remain positive in our outlook for 2012, with progress to date in line with expectations," he said.---RG
